History and Collection
The National Art Gallery of Bologna has been open to the public since 1885 and underwent significant renovation in 1997. The Gallery's collection, whose first catalog dates back to 1827, includes masterpieces by renowned Italian Renaissance, Mannerism, and Baroque artists such as Raphael, Perugino, Tintoretto, Titian, the Carracci, Guercino, and Reni.
Main Works
One of the jewels of the collection is the Bologna Polyptych by Giotto. This masterpiece is known for its detailed refinement and elegant ornaments. The scene depicts the majestic Virgin, gently touched on the face by the Child, and flanked by Saints Gabriel, Michael, Peter, and Paul. The artist's name can be seen on the step of the throne, a distinctive feature of his work.

In addition to the permanent collection, the Gallery hosts medium and large-scale temporary exhibitions, educational activities, seminars, and conferences. It is a place where art and culture meet, offering visitors an educational and stimulating experience.
